Philosophy
We will play our part in preparing young people for their future and
in raising achievment so that all can fulfil their potential. We will
strive for spiritual, moral, mental, physical and social development.
We will encourage children to value cultural diversity and combat
racism. We will encouage good citizenship and promote greater
understanding of the rights and responsibilities that underpin a
democratic society. Our school will be a place where people feel safe,
secure and valued. It will be a place of joy where individuals are
offered a broad and challenging curriculum in which the social,
imaginative and creative aspects are developed alongside the
intellectual. Our curriculum will be rooted in first-hand experience
and in teachers moving pupils from the known to the unknown. We will
build on past experience and nurture a sense of wonder. Each child
will be valued as a unique individual and must know what it is to
succeed and so develop a sense of his or her own worth. Self-respect
and respect for all life will be encouraged. Our school, which will be
welcoming and attractive will be at the heart of our community with
parents actively involved in their own children's education.
